Older Adult Treatment Programs

Maximizing Respect, Dignity and Independence

Hampton Behavioral Health Center’s goal is to help older adults regain a sense of independence and self-esteem. Care begins by identifying and understanding the problems that prevent them from functioning to their greatest potential. Great emphasis is placed on learning about the individual’s goals and needs. In doing so, older adults feel valued for their experience and wisdom and patients regain a sense of achievement and joy.

Hampton Behavioral Health Center offers older adults:

  • Comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations
  • Behavioral management
  • Family counseling
  • Medication management

Inpatient Program

For older adults with acute behavioral health symptoms, inpatient treatment at Hampton Behavioral Health Center provides an environment where behavior and medication can be closely monitored.

Programs are specially structured to address the behavioral needs of patients. Group therapy helps patients solve problems, build self-esteem and understand troubling relationships. Creative therapies assist individuals in expressing their thoughts, memories and emotions. Health and Wellness groups, music therapy and yoga are also offered to allow for stress reduction and improved well-being. When necessary, patients may attend Alcoholics Anonymous or Narcotics Anonymous 12-step programs. Family education and therapy are also important components of the treatment plan.

Our facilities are specifically designed to accommodate older adults’ physical impairments and provide a homelike environment that makes it easier for patients to function in their surroundings.
