Older Adult Services

Maximizing Respect, Dignity and Independence

At Hampton our goal is to help older adults regain a sense of independence and self-esteem. We begin care by identifying and understanding the problems that prevent them from functioning to their greatest potential. We also place great emphasis on learning about the individual’s goals and needs. In doing so, we help older adults feel valued for their experience and wisdom. We help patients regain a sense of achievement and joy in the present.

Hampton Offers Older Adults:

  • Comprehensive medical and psychiatric evaluations
  • Behavioral management
  • Family counseling
  • Medication management
  • Programs Tailored to Fit the Varied Needs of Older Adults

The needs of older adults are as varied as the needs of people in other age groups. Hampton offers the following inpatient program to accommodate these differences:

    Inpatient Program

For older adults with acute behavioral health symptoms, inpatient treatment at Hampton provides a safe environment where behavior and medication can be closely monitored.

Programs are specially structured to address the behavioral needs of patients. Individual counseling and therapeutic interventions, such as physical exercise and socialization skills, help patients and families build self-esteem and understand troubled relationships. The use of creative therapies assists individuals in expressing their thoughts, memories and emotions. If necessary, patients may attend Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous or other 12-step programs. Family education and therapy are also important components of the treatment plan.

Hampton’s facilities are specifically designed not only to accommodate older adults’ physical impairments but also provide a safe, homelike environment that makes it easier for patients to function in their surroundings.
